Mich Gerber is an eclectic, innovative, and exceptional double bass player who defined a never heard before musical art form. Some people call him a Space Bass Orchestra. He changed the double-bass’s role and moved the instrument from its place in the back of the stage up front playing it as a lead instrument. His talent spans from the craft of composing pieces to elaborate live instrumental improvisations, building on a unique instrumental voice with its double bass. Mich Gerber went through classical training and unusual avant-garde crazy music projects in his past. Independent, engaged, and following consequently his path, he blurs the boundaries between jazz, classical and traditional folk song, between Orient and Occident, between ancient music and electronica. Mich Gerber lives in Berne, Switzerland.
